Rain causes mayhem on Pretoria roads – Rekord East

Wet weather across parts of Pretoria has seen several accidents happen.

Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso urged motorists to be cautious on the wet, slippery roads

“This morning, around 05:48, a taxi and a VW Polo collided on the Mabopane highway near Hebron Road. Seven people sustained moderate to serious injuries and were transported by various ambulance services to hospital,” he said.

Mabaso said another accident involving a taxi and a vehicle happened at the intersection of Paul Kruger and Myburgh streets on Wednesday morning.

Two patients with minor injuries were transported to Tshwane district hospital.

He said two more vehicles also collided on the corner of Pretorius and River streets.

“One patient with moderate injuries was taken to Unitas hospital by a Tshwane ambulance and another patient with moderate to serious injuries was privately transported,” he said.
